I am a designer with a background in product/industrial design who also engages in fermenting, baking, and occasionally painting, writing, crafting, and photographing. 

In 2016, I completed my BA in industrial design at China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. Since 2017, I have been living in Berlin, where I completed my MA program in product design at the Universität der Künste Berlin in 2018.

With both my BA and MA projects centering around the topic of food culture and story, my design and research focus increasingly gravitated toward food-related experience and the social spaces created by cooking and sharing meals.



Current


– Running a creative design research duo "tofoodesign". We design objects, installations, events about and around the food experience.

– Working as part of the architect/design team in the studio of artist Julian Charrière, participating in the research and planning for the production of original artworks by Julian Charrière, and the design of their installation and exhibition.

– Freelancing at mixedmedia, assisting various contemporary artists with their art production.

– Voluntering at Bündnis Feuer und Flamme, an urban baking project with a communal open-fire oven in Mehringdamm, Berlin.

I am always looking for collaboration and exchange in or out of my focus area.

Work


– From 2019 to 2023, I worked for three years at infarm, a Berlin-based indoor farming company. As an industrial designer, I was involved in the technical development of different scales and models of the hydroponic farming units, as well as their operating and POS system.

– From 2015 to 2017, I supported the experimental food design project ChiTofu, initiated by designer Fang Hu, by assisting with the design of the event tableware and installation, as well as several event organisations,
