candela dicoccon
2025

Emmer wheat (triticum dicoccon) is a distant ancestor of modern wheat. Though less productive than contemporary varieties, its flattened ear structure happens to be well-suited for mold-making — for instance, as candles.

candela dicoccon is a candle installation cast from wheat ears, offering a quiet reappearance and continuation of field-bound grain waves within the context of a dining space.
